My name is Deanna Disney and I was raised in northern Rush County. I attended Mays Elementary School and Benjamin Rush Middle School in Rush county, and graduated high school from a private boarding school, Culver Girls Academy in 1993. I graduated from the University of Evansville in 1997 with a Bachelor Degree in Mass Communication.
After graduation, I worked for 10 years in Indianapolis in the marketing field with RMI, IMC, and Vekstar. My husband, Harold Disney, and I moved back to Rush County in 2002 and adopted our son in 2007. I worked as a substitute teacher for the Rush County Schools for 2 years before returning back to my career in Sales and Marketing with Watch Communications, where I am currently the sales manager.
When my son attended Mays Elementary, I served on the Mays PTO as Vice-President and President. I became a guardian to two wonderful children in 2014 which was my driving force as a founding member of Mays Community Academy. I wanted my children to experience a small rural school with hands on experience in a loving community.
I am proud to serve on the board as Vice President and look forward to what the future holds for all of our MCA children.
